Visa and I94 expiration date: 12 Sep 2009
Filed extension: 11 Sep 2009
Extension denied: 18 Nov 2009
Left US: 15 Dec 2009

Refiled H1 Visa: 15 Dec 2009
Visa apporoved: 22 Dec 2009

What should my answer for following question in DS-156 as I left US within 30 days of receiving the denial letter?

Have you ever violated the terms of a U.S. visa, or been unlawfully present in, or deported from, the United States?

Kindly suggest.

I have applied for I-140 thro Substitute in March 2006(15 months ago) and I got a query on my education and company financial status in August 06 and attorney replied back to query in the month of October 2006.
When I check my status online shows as "we received your application on October 20th 2006 and in process".

Last month there was an updated date on 05/25/07 on my case and when i checked with employer, he says we have not yet received any information from USCIS to attorney.

Now the attorney says, we will be Re-filing my case, as one case got denial from my company (Not mine itseems). So that we will get new Receipt Number as I have only 8 Months left on my H1 and we can apply for 1 year extension meanwhile before 6 months of H1 expiry.

Is it a good idea to re-file I-140 from the same Service Center(NSC)?

or Can I apply in PERM now as I have only 8 months on my H1.

Pl. suggest.

I am planning to go there on a business trip, is it advisable to just go and get it stamped there or should I rather go to canada/mexico and get H1 stamped.
I looked at their website but it's not really very helpful.

One consultant in the US had filed his H1B, and my cousin was asked to pay for the entire process, which he did. But, nothing happened last year after that, because the job market turned worse. My cousin did not appear for the visa interview.
Now, when he is trying to get in touch with the consultant, he is not getting any response. What are my cousin's options now?

VMH_GC07-18 11:02 AMIn my company along with me 4 other folks also affected due to visa bulletin mess. I sent them an email on July 9th 2007 about flower campaign organized by IV to USCIS director. The sad part is no body showed any interest and did not bother to reply. They are also going to benefited by this decision. These people still beleive in Murthy and other lawyer firm updates. I really don't know how to make these folks interested in IV. Any ideas or other personal stories.
