Well, when I talked to lawyer, even though he knew I have degree and Nclex from US, he asked me to get CGFNS visa screen.

is not acting on the Immigration bill as soon as possible, they are making the Legals also Illegals pretty soon, with the

USCIS nasty memo for the Employer-Employee relationship, getting an H1 extension became another Oil spill in the Gulf Coast!

This is not a joke, and politicians care little about this, because they cannot manipulate anything here, This is the year and time
to pass immigration bill. If not then immigration issue may not see light.


What about great Indian origin media tycoons Sanjay Gupta & Fareed Sakaria, why cant they make a issue on the media about this.

All Indian origins except some bunch of people, are waste and just eat, drink & be merry caes, and they don't care for anything.

Keeping the finger cross and waiting for the immigration bill introduced in congress as soon as possible at least before May 31st 2010. Even the home country of some of us here, India, with a puppet government and corrupted politicans can do nothing about this. :mad::o:eek:

txh1b08-18 09:21 AMAs both the I-94 that you got with the I797 and the white I-94 that you surrendered are with the same number, it does not really matter as the arrival record associated with the I-94# would have been closed with the departure record submitted by the white I-94 card when you left the country.

You can send the I-94 card tothe London, KY address to be sure. AFAIK, if the I-94 with the same number was turned in, you are fine.

We have been trying to talk to somebody consequential at the US Embassy in New Delhi because of a medical emergency. My wife and son both are in India. My son, who is a US citizen requires immediate medical assistance in US. Unfortunately, my wife does not have any visa at this moment because of some technicalities.

We are trying to contact somebody from the embassy staff who can assist us in getting an emergency visa appointment. we tried to call the numbers given on their website, but we are only able to reach low level operators who simply redirect us to another automatic voice mail number. Also, writing to their email address is not proving anymore helpful. Mostly we don't even get any reply to our emails. Sometimes we simply get some automatic response to our emails which is not at all relevant to our requests.

So if anybody has any direct number/email of some senior embassy staff, please forward it to us. It will be really helpful for us.

gc_chahiye10-02 01:30 AMCan anyone tell me after my 6th year of H1 i have a 3 year extension of h1 visa, can i go to india and come back on that visa or do i need to have AP. I got my 140 approved and i got my 485 receipt notices.

you can use the visa, need not use AP if you dont want to. If you have a visa stamping already, using the H1 visa is the preferred way to return:
- you get an I-94 valid for 3 more years (with AP you get one for just one year, which is a bit weird)
- using AP atleast sometimes pushes you into secondary inspection which is another hour spent with the customs and border patrol folks. While they are typically nice and friendly, I personally hate being stuck in that no-mans land at the airport.

Only advantage of AP is if your GC is approved while you are abroad, you are supposed to return on AP as your H1 status would have ended. in practice people have re-entered on H1 in such cases and its been ok. Depending on your PD this may not may not be a concern

Obtaining the green card doesn't mean your mom has to come here immediately. She can attend the interview and choose to come at a later point. I'm not too familiar with the appointment process/wait times etc but it seems like a lot of hassle to have to reapply.

Is postponement of the interview a choice?

I dont know how long ago you obtained your green card or citizenship but these days it's a loooooooooooooooooooooong wait for the elusive GC. So grab your chance when it comes.

That was my two cents.

My friend and his family got their GC's approved last week. They also have Canadian GC. My friend is the primary applicant and she is currently in US, but her husband is in India. He did not apply for an advance parole and was planning to re-enter the country using his Canadian GC. Now that his US GC is approved, will there be any issue at the port of entry?

rockstart12-06 08:05 AMI had F1 visa from July 2002 - July 2007 stamped in my passport. I moved to H1b in Oct 2004 and stamped my H1 Visa in June 2005. So you can move to H1B from F1 without stamping any visa only if you have to leave US then you need to get the new H1 stamp before re-entering. Also do not forget to fax a caopy of your H1 approval notice to your school's international center so that they can stop reporting you in SEVIS
