inskrish08-21 11:13 PMWell, most of us July filers--including myself--are little stressed out due the Receipt Notice issues, but now I have learned how to live happy even at hard times. Here is how I imagine the NSC center works. A busy morning at NSC mail room.:)

Mail room Clerk: Good morning officer! Today's quota of I-485 Receipt Entry is 3000. In what order I have to pull the 3000 applications from the mound of applications?

Officer: Order? Are you out of your mind? Did you forget my instructions? Go to Rack # 10 and pull 1000 applications, and go to Rack # 15 and pull 1200 applications, and finally go to Rack # 21 and pull 700 applications. It will take just take 10 minutes. If you sort all these applications, it will take hours and hours. Try to be a smart man. OK?

Clerk: Yes sir, I will do it 10 minutes.
(Clerks completes the officier's instruction and comes back with the applications, but seems confused)

Clerk:Sir, it looks like we pulled only 2900 applications, but still we need 100 more.

Officer: What? How did it happend? OK. Let me think. Go to the 'Rejected Applications' rack and pull 100 applications, closing your eyes. It is important you close your eyes and pull the application. Understand?

Clerk: Yes, sir.

(The clerk gets the 100 applications from the 'Rejected Applications' rack)

Clerk: Sir, I am done.

Officer: OK. Now, one final time. Count the applications and make sure we have only 3000 applications.

(The clerk counts the applications again....)

Clerk: In a panic voice, says, "Sir, I don't know how this happend, but we have 3600 applications instead of 3000, but I did't make any mistake, Sir.

Officer:Man, you are always a pain in my ass. Now we have 600 more applications in hand..Hmmm.. Let me think. OK, just transfer these 600 applications to TSC, and today's problem is solved.

Clerk: Yes, sir.

Officer: Bye, see you tomorrow.

avi04-17 01:51 PMI am currently on EAD and used AC 21. Just in case if I suspect that there might be some issue during final I 485 approval, can I have my company apply for my H1 transfer before I 485 is approved?

If I do so, what will be the status of the I 485 application after H1B transfer?

This is a bit confusing question to answer but if I apply for my H1B transfer now, what will be its validity date?

All help appreciated. Thanks all in advance.

I thought if you invoked your AC21 - you hopped on to the pending-immigrant boat leaving the non-immigrant boat altogether ... and that boat is now gone ...
To get back to a non-immigrant boat .. you may have to get a new one ... but in that case you'll have to show your intent of non-permanent stay in the US ... which your 485 would contradict anyways ...

A better option would be to have your legs in both the boats for as long as possible - i.e. transfer your H1 (and not get on to your EAD) while your 485 is still pending.

I may be wrong .. but this is how i perceive it

This is true. That said, if you transfer from one office/department to another office/department within the same employer, you can count the 5 years experience as long as these two offices/departments are using two different Tax Id for your W-2. This is what our lawyers told us.

anai09-17 11:03 PMHi, My wife and I received three emails each regarding 485 approval ("notice mailed welcoming new permanent resident," "CPO ordered," and "approval notice sent") on 9/8. My wife received her "welcome notice" and the card itself within a few days. But I have not received either yet.

1. I know the CPO email says wait 30 days, but given that my wife has already received hers, I suspect that mine was either sent to an incorrect address or there's some other hold up. Anyone else in a similar situation? Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

2. I guess I can wait 30 days and then apply for a replacement card with an I-90 (for which the current processing time is 3.5 months). How can I travel internationally in the interim? If anyone is aware, please let me know; I am trying to have a plan in place, in case an emergency arises.

yes, it will be in your lap as SOON as your pd becomes current... sorry, it does not mean what we all want it to mean... it could mean that your case gets pre-adjudicated and hence may be quickly approvable once pd is current...

Murthy.com forums has a special section for people dealing with misdemeanor issues and have gone through the process, may be you will get some more tips about preparing for the interview there.
