chanduv2312-16 10:59 AMA freind of mine had two years EAD and don't have H1 anymore. His drivers License was denied as EAD is not considered a valid document for drivers License extention.
This happened in Wayne , NJ.
I too will be going for the renewal soon. Did anyone else faced similar situtation. If yes, how did they resolve?

We must get this addressed. Write to the DMV to sort this out. Pending 485 is a valid status and that needs to be sorted out.

Lets make a list of DMVs not accepting pending 485 as valid form.

I am also searching for directions to the university. But I don't think EAD would allow you to move to full-time student status. EAD is Employment Authorization Document and can be used only for employment, as far as I know. I will check with my lawyer too.

+ This Act may be cited as the ``Reform America's Broken Immigration System Act''.

o It is the sense of the Senate that Congress should--
+ (1) fulfill and strengthen our Nation's commitments regarding border security;

When did you make this travel over air?

I remember getting a new I-94 each time I returned to the US (in the last 2yrs) from Vancouver. They used to not require that you get a new I-94 (in 2001 and 2004), but of late, you are required to surrender your existing I-94 and get a new one when you return - even between the US and Canada, if you hold an Indian passport. Meaning that if you are refused the H1B visa stamp in Canada, you can't just enter the US on the previous I-94 (even it is still valid).

That means that the immigrant spouse becomes out of status and would lose her right to work. Because of this the immigrant spouse should apply for a waiver right away once the divorce is final. Staying here and working while being out of status can cause problems of its own.

It's generally true that getting divorced does not affect one's green card. The exception however is when a person has a conditional marriage based green card and gets divorced before the conditions are removed.

Gravitation12-19 12:32 AMThere's a quite a misconception that if h1 is canceled, it cannot be extended. It's nothing like that. Your friend can file for visa transfer (pay extra for premium processing) and get it in two weeks.

The only time you have to file a new H1 is when you leave US and remain outside for a year. Otherwise an transfer is all you need. This misconception is very widespread. Rajiv Khanna was at pains to try to exterminate this in one of his tele-conferences.

Anyhow, at this point, your friend should be talking to an attorney instead of having you make a post at this forum.

I resigned company A for job Title X and joined company B (H1 transfer) (I did not rejected or asked him to cancel my EB based GC petition)

But Company A revoked my EB based sponsored petition.
Is there a legal right for me to ask why did he revokes my EB based sponsorship petition when I have not rejected his offer for GC Title Y

You have no legal right. Employer can sponser and revoke the petition.
