srinivas_o09-18 05:40 PMI have filed on July 2nd itself and still no receipt, no FP notice, nothing. Called USCIS 3 times and they asked me to wait until it's been 3 months after the filing. Then only they will do something it seems.

BTW, how can I get to 2 Level representative?



I have filed on August 10th and I do not have a receipt either. I guess we need to be patient. I have checked even people with July 19th are waiting.

GC? no..I don't think I am going to get GC even this time also.
We had our FP done on July28th. Raised a SR on Aug-2, got a response on Aug-4th, that case is pending background checks, wait for 6 months before another followup.

I spoke to FBI customer service and they said they sent results on July 28th itself (I specifically asked if the results include background check also)


So as it stands, I have become a sucker this time also.:mad:

It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the information from FBI to be tied to your case. So when your SR was raised, the inormation might not have been available yet.

So, if you do not get greened by end of this month, raise another SR request or take an Infopass.

My PD was March 15 2004. Yes I could have waited for PD to become current and of course I would have preferred EAD for my wife. But you know as well as I do how the PD movement is. There is no way to tell what the PD will be next month. Knowing how these consultancies work we had investigated a lot. We talked to couple of people who had worked for him and they recommended him. They said they haldnt got any trouble from him. So we went ahead. I agree it was a mistake. But anyway whats done is done. Now just looking ahead.

I just called NSC to put an service request. I was told no receipt #, no service request can be put in.
Further I was told, there was hold all application to be processed till 2days ago, hence they have started receipting again 2 days back. Hard to believe it. I said I am 11thJune filer, but the IO kept saying there was a hold till 2 days ago. According to IO, all applications will be receipted by30thJuly. But she repeatedly suggested to check the bank for encashed checks. She said 'no encashed checks, no receipt #'...

SO if no receipt #, then how do we file at service request ?? Is there a link to file an online service request?? (I couldn't find one)

Anybody else in the same boat?? Please let us know so that we can track each other's progress.

Sometimes even when I can't :confused:

I am thinking next year I would like one of the broad range zoom lenses, a camera and one lense is a lot easier to carry on a trip. Prices are not that bad on them. oh.. that is if I have a job, who knows what is going to happen.

I get asked to make quite a few banners for different companies and through trial and error I have found that once you have created your images in photoshop and saved them at the lowest file size as possible without losing any quality, open the images up in fireworks and create the animation there using frames as I find fireworks optimises gifs muchbetter than photoshop,
(And believe me it hurts me to say that as i'm a big photoshop fan).

I'm sure your aware also that the more frames you use the bigger the file size is going to be so its always best to use the least ammount of frames needed and adjust the frame speed of each frame to get the required effect.

By the way I love looking at the images you create when you post them do you have a tutorial website where I could create one for my nickname of The Bandit:bandit:

He'll loose whatever time that he is used on EAD and get the remaining time that is left on his 6 year period. If 6 years is already passed, he can still file for H1-B based on labor, 140 approval. In my case, my H1-B got denied coz of employer issues and i have an another H1-B with another company. Mean while i have filed AC21 with my new employer to be able to work..Hope this helps..

Something does not sound right here. How can the employer "misplace" the upper portion of the approval notice? In the first place, why did he even separate the upper portion and the lower portion? He is supposed to give you the entire document as a single piece of paper.
Some thing really does not sound right here. By law, he is required to give you the approval notice.

arindamb03-25 08:44 PMI feel "related" might be the key word that can cause discomfort for a lot of people. How does one determine that ones job is related to his/her degree ? This might finally be left upto the discretion of the USCIS.

One might have studied electrical engineering and then get in a job writing embedded systems software. Will that be a related job ?
One might have an MS in Biological sciences but might be writing software for genetics. Is that a related job ? The list can go on.

How far can one digress from ones degree major to still be considered related.
I presume we might see a lot of confusion regarding STEM if the whole thing is made into a law.
