If you've ever given blood, which I have many times, you would know that you have to fill out a form every time which asks you questions based on high-risk behaviors, including sex-for-money, intravenous drug use, and male-to-male sex. They are in no way equated.

Except that the question "male to male sex" is discriminatory. It doesn't ask you "received anal sex", it asks you about your sexual orientation. Plain and simple, discriminatory and non-scientific because male-to-female sex has the exact same risks.

lucrosusApr 18, 07:30 AMHi everyone. I have the 2011 15" MBP and need help to get my printer working. First, let me tell you what I have so far.

The MBP 15" 2011 has all the softwares updated. I installed Windows 7 via Boot Camp, then installed Parallels. So far so good. Next, I installed Quickbooks and Office both for Windows. BTW, it is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

After setting up, I was glad to be able to use the MBP and run Quickbooks and Office programs side by side under Mac OS. Next, I tried to connect the old Epson LX-300 printer. This is where my problem started and remains unresolved.

I still could not get the Epson printer to be installed properly on the Mac OS, so I downloaded the Epson printer driver v2.6, I think. It is a huge file at something like 800+ mb if I remember correctly. After installing this file, I finally managed to install the printer by following the instructions from an Epson support site. At this point, I have not test printed.

Next, I ran Quickbooks under Mac OS, but when I wanted to print, I could not find the Epson LX-300.

I really needed to print invoices, so I shutdown the computer, rebooted using Windows 7. Supposed to be, when I connect the printer, Windows should be able identify and install the necessary driver. Unfortunately, this did not work.

What happens is that when I plug in the printer via USB, on the control panel of Windows 7, it will show USB printer. That's it. When I try to print, I cannot find the Epson printer... Even USB Printer is not available.

HELP! I need to be able to print. I don't care if this is only possible by booting into Windows 7 OS... Which at this point, doesn't even work.

If anyone could show me how to set this thing properly, at least make the printer work on Wndows 7, or better, make it work even if I am on Mac OS running Windows programs.

I'd still ride it out with my 3Gs though...unless I gave in to the temptation to try another platform.

i was tempted to try apple for a year, and me poking my nose around this area of the forum trying to see when the next one drops. Sucks that if they do delay this one i wont be trying them out this year. I would love to do such a thing so each year i can bounce back and forth from android to ios to windows 7 give them all time to keep improving.

I remember one member in particular (I won't name which one) had a post average of over 60 per day shortly after being banned. I know this because I checked that user's profile. 60 per day is almost surely spamming when even Mr. Anderson can't manage more than 16 legitimate posts per day - I haven't found any more active member.
I know who you mean, and that member I believe turned out to be another member in disguise who had already been banned for spamming! :eek:

I don't pay extra for the iPad version of nytimes.com on my iPad, so I use the web version instead (and it's not even optimized for iPad the way the mobile version is optimized for iPhone). I don't get the benefit of the snazzier iPad app, but I'm also not paying for it.

Apple created the iOS platform and allows third parties to develop apps for it as long as you play by Apple's rules. If you don't like Apple's rules, optimize your product to run as a web page for iPhone/iPad or just rely on the web version you have now.

Frankly, I wish more publications would do that: I would be fine to read web-based, iPad-optized versions of the New Yorker, New York Times, Newsweek, etc., if the subscription prices are cheaper than an iPad version and it means the publisher actually makes a web-based subscription available, even if it means I'm giving up some UI coolness, better graphics, etc., but not getting the iPad version.

The market works just fine.

Having lived in the UK during the mad cow disease outbreak (aka nvCJD) in the 1980s means they won't take my blood for a long time yet (I've gone to the donation centres and asked them about it twice). Particularly unfortunate since I'm O negative. But if the blood tests get better and they can verify that the disease is nonexistent and not just dormant, then perhaps more of us here will be able to contribute.

I have done this multiple times, all of which ended in success. eBay auctions are legally binding contracts with the description as the stipulations. I suggest you take a basic course in law or political philosophy and maybe you won't sound like such a jackass when you get proved wrong.

So one more question for you, if you are so sure I will lose, why don't you just buy it to prove a point to me? Don't you want me to lose money shipping it to you to make me learn a lesson? Don't you want to be able to leave negative feedback on my account at no cost to you (since you're sure you will get a refund and eBay will side with you)? Seems like a pretty good opportunity for you chap. Good luck. :)

The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.

Maybe, but there have been some issues. The battery thing was real. 4.3.1 improved it for me.

I have bought new battery (original apple) and after full charging it can�t work on battery power. Powerbook shut down directly with disconecting of power cord. The same ocurs with older battery still working in other PB. New battery work normaly in other PB.
