yodamac1Apr 12, 02:40 AMI just posted a bunch of my apple vinyl banners on ebay, but one in particular almost made me cry when I posted it. It is a 4ft x 4ft Thomas Edison vinyl banner. It used to hang over my head every day back in 1998 when I was selling macs at a compusa. I always felt like he was watching me and encouraging me to introduce people to Macs (mostly iMacs) for the first time. One day I was asked to take down Edison, Buzz, Ghandi and Hitchcock and put them in the trash compactor out back. Naturally, I said to hell with that idea and snuck them to my car. How could any Mac fan ever be expected to destroy anything so beautiful. Well, I got caught with them, but the manager let me keep Buzz and Edison and he took the other two. Now I put Edison on ebay and I'm already regretting it. Did I do the right thing?

My brand philosophy is quite similar. I have a small handful of brand preferences...
Apple (computers)
Samsung (LCD TVs)
Roland (electronic music gear)

Other products are dictated by functionality, aesthetics and budget. My above picks aren't firm, either; I recently got a small Insignia LCD TV for my bedroom. In this case, product size and budget considerations trumped brand.

cocacolakidMar 19, 06:13 PMI have a 2010 unibody mini hooked up to a 37" Vizio 1080p HDTV as it's main monitor. (I also have a 24" HD monitor as a dual monitor, but I rarely use that).

I have had absolutely no issues at all using a large HDTV. There isn't any lag, the picture is fantastic, etc.

I play a ton of movies on this thing, using Front Row, VLC, and Boxee (and the iPad has apps to use as a remote for all 3).

I'd highly recommend it.

I think going through your friend is the best and only route and hope for the best. have them meet at a public place (Starbucks) even a police station I will bet he doesn't like that idea. all you can do is hope for the best worst case this route you have a over priced used 16gb I4. which is better then nothing. good luck.

The 5D was released in the summer of 2005. The D700 was released in the summer of as was the 5D Mark II.

The two cameras are not direct competitors in my mind, regardless of their being full frame. The 5D Mark II cannot match the D700's autofocus capabilities, nor can the D700 match the resolution offered by 21 megapixels in the 5D Mark II.

I think they are de facto competitors, but not so much in reality when you start to think about it more.

At any rate, what's the rush? My D700 is everything I need. What more do you think you need?

As of right now I have three 1TB drives inside my Mac Pro, RAIDed together (stripe 0) using the OS. No Raid card.

The drives are all 7200rpm from varying manufacturers. (not sure if this matters.)

My questions is; is it beneficial for me to get a RAID card to control these drives vs. leaving it to the OS to handle? Any suggestions for me?

CounterfitDec 20, 10:43 PMWell, I used the official documentation for the first aluminum 15" PB (which is what I have). It says to use a "dentist pick" to undo the clip. An allen wrench works fine, as long as you don't drop it into the optical drive like I did :rolleyes:

Is it the same for the iPhone 4 or does it not matter? If it does matter is it longer than 12 hours? Also, can leaving your phone plugged in when it is fully charged hurt it? Thanks!

Just charge it freely.Most mobile phones now use lithium batteries as power supply. So you are not necessary to overcharge it at all. Don't worry that it will do some harm to your battery.

for added fun, experiment with different colors of stickies to change the color of your power light (yellow and blue make ....)
