Plus i like that when your done playing a game it shows highlights(pictures of you playing the game in funny positions).

eccentricglowMay 2, 02:11 PMTo be quite honest, Time Machine leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to error reporting when something goes wrong. I feel your frustration because I had the same problem a few months ago. I've found that looking at the console helps to determine what error occurred and then searching Google to see what the error means, and how to fix it. I think you can find the console in the utilities folder somewhere - can't exactly remember where it is.

My problem with Time Machine was that my disk permissions were screwed up and so it wasn't copying the files nessessary to complete the back up - it would just quit. I would check to see if those were set correctly by going into info and reseting them. Might help.

This screenshot doesn't look anything like Mac AppStore IMO, and doesn't resemble iTunes ( the iOS AppStore ) either, much. It looks much more 'windows' like than Apple-like. If I looked at that screenshot without knowing its an appStore I'd immediately guess 'windows' over Apple.

My brother is a big gamer, and his LCD seems to work fine for him as he never seems to come out of his room... My only advice is not to get a dell monitor, the one that I have on my linux box had a row of dead pixels after about a year, and dell has the worst customer support ever.

At best, it'll work great, running the stick out of spec.

At worst, the PC won't boot with the 'wrong' stick in there.

Most likely (all this is assuming a 'wrong' stick,) it will boot, but will boot slower than you want. For example, if it has an 866MHz processor, it might only boot at 650Mhz. (Because, for example, it uses a 133Mhz bus, and you put 100Mhz RAM in, so it would run the processor at only a 100MHz bus, dropping it's speed accordingly.)

Or, with lots of motherboards, the processor speed and RAM speed were independent, so it would run just fine, but the memory would run at the 'lowest common denominator' speed. This is especially true of newer DDR motherboards.

parts of pbfixit.com were good.. but that was the simple stuff.. the hardest part of the whole bit was doing this, and they essentially give you the wrong info. i should've taken pictures, but for anyone who is interested.. oh my 15" powerbook revision C, this holds true.

if you get to the part of having to remove this latch. get a nice dentist poker stick thingie and instead of prying at the case, simply push aside the optical slot protector/dust stoppers on the left side, right at the first little slit going vertically. insert the tip of the dentist thing into the area .. you can see the case and the latch if you look very carefully. put it in between them and gently pull forward while lifting on the top case gently. it comes off very very easily. this will essentially mean you touch ZERO of your case while taking this off. if you go in through the gap as pbfixit.com says, depending on the tool (metal or whatever) it will quickly turn nasty and you'll be ruining your case... if someone would like pictures, i can take them... it won't be real accurate, but i can point out the obvious parts. maybe i'll even put a guide together for it to help people..

going to take photos now. be back shortly with pics.

EDIT: they're very hard to take, due to the small area i'm trying to capture. i'm going to try more later.. but i'll post back here when i get better pics.

If you bought it new in it came with Leopard (10.5). When Lion (10.7) is released, you can upgrade directly to it without first upgrading to Snow Leopard (10.6).



asdad123Apr 3, 08:27 PMIts pretty easy to put on the SGP protectors. A word of advice is to do it in a bathroom after running a hot shower for a little until it steams up a bit. This will make sure there is as little dust as possible flying around.

If you do get some dust under the screen, use two pieces of duck tape. Put one on the protector to lift it up and then the second piece to grab a hold of the dust. I just took two pieces of dust out from underneath my Ultra Optics SGP.

He was even chasing down pedestrians on the other side of the street. Not sure what that B.S. was about, but as a photographer, I take exception to that sort of overreach. It's a public street, and last time I checked, the Apple store is not a post office, military base, or other government facility.

This was a rent a cop and not an Apple employee, right?

Maybe it was an audition to work at the Pentagon? ;-)
