This is my guess also. I think if it was the GPU the video would be far worse or maybe not even work at all. Since the PowerBooks have dedicated video memory this can't be fixed with new system RAM as you wondered earlier in the thread.

Best solution would be a new logic board.

Ok after writing a long winded reply I found a site that does a better job at explaining it (and has pictures!). The concept is important (and useful even if Cocos does have some sort of built in method to handle it).

I would also highly suggest if you do have to do this manually, use a bounding circle (or rectangle) first to check for collisions, and if you find one, THEN do per pixel collision detection. It will help performance greatly.

How does it compare to an alubook keyboard? Does it have the same feel to it? I'm a bit worried that the keys will not feel as 'soft' as the alubook's.

tjwettJul 6, 12:06 PMcongrats on the switch! first thing i always do is run Software Update and download any updates you need. there should be a bunch depending on when your machine left the factory. after that you should run Disk Utility and fix all permissions. then i like to setup my preferences and go. maybe import your music from another machine. unless you're really in love with partitioning your HD then go for it but i think you'll find that the standard system setup is capable of keeping your machine very organized. you'll see. enjoy!

So iOS 4.2 brought AirPlay video streaming to a few select Apple apps like iPod/Videos and YouTube. The Verizon iPhone should have been been able to do that from day one, as it shipped with iOS 4.2.5/4.2.6.

iOS 4.3 introduced support for AirPlay video streaming from Safari and third-party apps. iMovie for iOS is another one that requires iOS 4.3 for streaming projects via AirPlay.

So to settle this once and for all, can anybody with a Verizon iPhone double check to make sure they do have the AirPlay capabilities from 4.2 and NOT those from 4.3 with the new iOS 4.2.8? Remember, we're specifically talking about video here. Krevnik says that this is the case, but we'd like a few more data points to counteract claims that there has been a change.

We've seen just a couple reports claiming that video AirPlay has been added to the Verizon iPhone with 4.2.8, but we think it's confusion over the limited support that originally existed vs. what non-Verizon devices can do under 4.3.

MalFeb 5, 11:22 AMTrust me, it's going to be much easier to just use MailChimp. They have a free option, as long as it's less that 2000 contacts and less than 12,000 emails per month. You just embed their signup form on your website, and you can compose the emails elsewhere and copy/paste, or use their forms. For someone that's not computer-savvy, it's really the best way by far, and since it's free, nothing to lose really.

AFPosterApr 9, 12:56 PMSo I have owned my 2011MBP (15", 2.2GHz) for about a month now, and while it isn't slow, it doesn't feel as fast as my 3 year old C2D (E6750) based system. On my Windows machine, I can run several virtual machines, for months, without even noticing any impact on other applications such as Adobe CS3, etc. This system only has 4GB of memory, and an older 750GB HD.

If I try running just 1 virtual machine (be it XP or Windows 7), it makes the laptop almost useless, while the VM itself isn't running that fast either. I have tweaked some of the performance settings in Parallels, but nothing seems to make a difference. I upgraded to 8GB of memory, still no difference.

Is this a typical experience?

I just use Boot Camp for Win 7 Pro, same laptop as you 15" 2.2ghz, 4gb ram and 750gb hd w/ hr anti-glare. I have no issues, although I am tempted to upgrade to 8gb ram before my month ends of owning this only for a feeling of complete, if I don't upgrade I could care less b/c this beast is quick and no and I mean no issues.
