Manowar — Hail To EnglandspydrJun 22, 07:56 AMMost are class 6 or about 6MB/s, some are class 10 or about 10MB/s. The fastest are around 30MB/s but that costs over $200 for a 32GB card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171413&cm_re=sdhc-_-20-171-413-_-Product

Manowar — Hail To EnglandtheBBSep 25, 10:52 PMAccording to US law, a trademark holder MUST defend their trademarks, or they risk losing them. Google is struggling with this, as they're trying to encourage people not to use it as a generic verb.
Wikipedia Linky (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain#Trademark)
I was going to point out that Bayer already lost Aspirin and Xerox came very close, but thanks for the link. Still, podcast is different enough compared to iPod that Apple is probably not at risk. However, "probably" is not the same as "definitely".
Manowar - Hail to Englande-coliSep 13, 08:26 PMDell a top tier vendor?
actually, dell makes insanely great computers. their stock video cards generally aren't very good, but you can fix that easily.
apple needs to catch up quickly. it's getting sad and pathetic. especially with the rumors that apple is just now scrambling to find someone to manufacture/replace the G5 or equivalent.
Manowar — Hail To EnglandcmaierMar 26, 03:58 PMI was wondering if that was an iPad on the table too. Only other thing I think it could be was the bill, but for just coffee? Probably was an iPad!
You've obviously never gone shopping in Palo Alto :)

Oh ok, SCREEN SAVER mode, well that makes sense, I can't wait until you do it with the CLI version ::drool::
I am now benchmarking the CLI version of SETI@home on the Dual 1.25GHz G4. I was surprised that it was only marginally faster than the GUI version (a little under 6 hours per unit), but SETI's FAQ explains that the GUI on a dual processor uses one processor for the graphics and one for the computation, so the graphics "don't count" much. And, when running SETI CLI version, you still don't get the benefit of the dual processors (except to run something besides SETI at the same time, of course) unless you explicitly start two SETI processes at the same time, each in its own directory.
I will report my results of single-CLI runs after I determine the effect of the Energy Saver settings and the effect of the -verbose option that reports progress in the Terminal window. Then I will try double-CLI runs.
Manowar — Hail To EnglandcmaierMar 25, 03:07 PMWhile reading these pages, what amazes me is that many people keep calling KODAK a patent troll.
YET KODAK STILL MAKES DIGITAL CAMERAS AND PRINTERS BASED ON THESE PATENTS!
really? which printer or camera uses it? It should be marked with the patent number if it does.
Earth to MacRumors members... APPLE WILL LOSE TOO MOST LIKELY.
Doubtful. A judge already said they don't infringe.

robbieduncanSep 27, 11:24 AMRAW handling in OSX is done by the operating system, so updates to RAW support imply updates to OSX as well.
I think this is sort of true in Aperture but not 100% true. Aperture has it's own RAW decoders (1.0 and 1.1 versions) which are separate from the system and run in Core Image. I believe that it relies on the system support for colour profile data only...
Hail to England is Manowar#39;srovexMay 2, 03:08 PMI Apple's QC is excellent by the way.
I disagree, I think with the iPhone QC has been relatively good but not at all on the iPad. The IPad 2's QC has been dreadful.

Then there are those that are playing a game of "Who am I?" by posting to this inside The Loop via a private, self paid, wireless, VPN.
I am sure there are but I don't really see what you mean, other than that.
Manowar middot; Hail to EnglandsargeMar 25, 10:37 AMA little background is necessary here:
Kodak - where it all started
In the early 1980s, Kodak invented the OLED technology. Kodak are still working on OLEDs, on both displays and lighting, and have licensed its OLED display technology to around 20 companies, including LG, CMEL and others. They are still perfecting their OLED lighting tech, and seeking partners to bring it to market. Back in we interviewed Mr. Corey Hewitt, Operations Manager & Vice President, Kodak OLED Systems
UPDATE: In December Kodak announced that they have sold all of their OLED business to LG. LG paid $100 million for the OLED unit. They will still have access to the technology for their own products.

djinnJan 14, 08:51 AMI purchased the App to compare it to Navigon and TomTom. While the app is fairly new, you would have to wonder how much testing they did before submitting it to app store.
I would say the app has some potential but needs a lot of work. No need to name all the issues since they are obviously already mentioned in the thread.
As of now, my trust with an Iphone GPS App would have to go to TomTom. ;)

LOL! Do you realize how silly you sound with these comments?
63dotMar 16, 10:23 AMExcuse me, I was talking about consumer pickup trucks, not large16+ Ton HD shipping trucks.
For smaller American trucks, I see them everywhere, whether it's a landscaper/gardener, construction worker/contractor, auto parts vehicle, city vehicles, fire captain, emergency vehicle, plumber, or a whole host of telecomm/techie workers.
I think there will always be a considerable market for small to medium sized American trucks and maybe the US auto companies should focus mostly on those markets of small to mid-sized trucks (but not larger Isuzu, Mercedes, and Volvo delivery trucks) and also not try and take Honda, Lexus, Toyota, BMW, Nissan, Hyundai, Volvo, and Mercedes head on in sedans.
At least around my parts, I rarely see a Toyota, Honda, or Nissan small or mid-sized truck in the occupations listed above. At the same time, consumer sedans are mostly foreign car companies as well as those super large delivery trucks.
GilGrissomOct 26, 06:56 PMWas there much chatting in the line or were people keeping themselves to themselves?
It was in patches. Some people kept themselves to themselves, others chatted in their small groups of people they already knew. People kept coming by asking us what we were queuing for, none of them looked at me seriously when I told them we were waiting to get into the Apple Store! I chatted a bit with the people around me, was interesting seeing who was there to buy Leopard, who was there just to test it, who was there simply for the T-Shirts and who was there lost in the queue cuz all they wanted was to come in and look around and buy and iPod, knowing nothing about Leopard!!!
My friend was late getting there, so I met him inside the store when he finally got in.
Was some professional looking videoing going on outside of the queue, anyone know who it was??
blinkieDec 21, 05:49 AM- just don't have any time for this.
Time enough to post about it though ;) Merryxmas
aiqw9182Apr 5, 10:40 PMThe combined line-in/out jack on the newest Macs certainly DOES supply a small amount of power for the mic built into the iPhone headphones. The separate line in port on older Macs doesn't, but the headphone port does supply power (on my 2009 MBP at least). It's not the same amount of power as the mic port on PCs, but it's similar. The mic on an analogue headset designed for a PC has never worked on a Mac. The old Plaintalk mics back in the beige Mac days used to have a really long connector, so the tip would touch the power part of the socket in the Mac.
Once again, I was never talking about the audio out port that also has mic capabilities for iPhone headsets that there are very few of. I was talking about the line-in jack that is useless and does not support power for a typical headset.
