Paintball613Feb 25, 10:01 PMNever hurts to drop off your resume to one of the store's managers. Ask for the "Store Leader" though as that is the main store manager and usually has the final say about the hiring.

MacRumorUserMar 20, 11:54 AMNice way of telling me it's worth avoiding :D
You read into that what you wanted to hear.

There's nothing to avoid really. It's near the best version of lemmings since the Amiga ones.

Faults are the no mouse support, but in fairness the controller works very well. And 40 levels wont last you forever.

But like I say for 3.50 can you really complain ?

Well as it's you Jimmi - the answer is probably ;) :p :D j/k

dlee96May 2, 12:53 PMWith the plastic clips, the springs were required to maintain pressure between the heatsink and the CPU. You don't need the springs if you're using screws and nuts. I used nylon screws and nylon lock nuts. I see temps a few degrees lower than yours while encoding. Remember not to use too much thermal paste.

I've recently installed a 2.33ghz c2d chip in my old 1.66 cd mac mini. The performance boost has been great!

I've noticed temps have gotten a little high while running encodes and such... around low - mid 90s C while handbrake is encoding. I know this is still within operating temperature, but i'd like them to be a little lower.

I managed to keep the plastic clips from breaking while installing my cpu. I've been thinking about replacing the nylon clips with some nylon screws, like others have mentioned.

My question, Do people use the springs that came with the clips when installing the screws? Or do people just screw the heatsink down snug to the cpu without the springs?

Thanks,

MacRumorUserMar 21, 06:02 PMIs this the one by Hudson too? They don't normally develop poo.

Seem's like poo was on a 2 for 1 sale :o

I didn't care about the games graphics, after all pilotwings wasn't WOW it was the gameplay that made it excellent. Nintendo dissapointed me with no PW game for the cube, when I first saw this game it rekindled my PW hopes, hence I'm dissapointed.

Added to the fact that the launch schedule for Europe is looking like utter ***** on the wii. We dont even get trauma centre until the end of July now.

If the release schedule has little appeal for someone like me who buys a shedload of games - for some of the more judicious choosing types - it's practically non existant....

Wild-BillJun 18, 10:07 AMMy brother-in-law pre-ordered online for he and his sister. We are going to the store around 4pm Friday (after work, travel, etc..). If the phones are there, they're there. If they're not, they're not. I'm on the fence of whether or not I want to go with the 3Gs, but the two of them are dead set on it. i am more interested in checking out the new MBAs while I am there, and quizzing the staff to see if any of them have a clue about the 1.5G/s SATA issue on the MBPs :D

dutchchillyApr 6, 04:28 AMHi guys,

I'm working on a Space Invaders testcase.
You know those barriers right? Where you can hide behind and shoot a hole through? That's what I want to achieve.

Is it possible to do a collisiondetection pixelwise? And make a series of pixels of that sprite transparent after collision?

I'm using Cocos2d by the way.

Cheers

I think I'll have to go with a custom MutableTexture2d for fast getting and setting of pixels:

http://www.cocos2d-iphone.org/forum/topic/2449

My idea is:
- First do a pixel perfect collision detection using the pixelAt function
- If there's a collision do a 'sprite merge' with one sprite being an impact-radius sprite and of course the barrier sprite using setPixelAt.

Hope that's going to work out (performance).

Any other thoughts on the subject are very welcome.

Cheers

suburbiaApr 27, 10:05 AMThese banners are just supreme. I don't think I remember ever seeing these-- only the "Think Different" ads in magazines way back when.

The "Think Different" campaigns were ingenious, and to think several years later Apple would resort to those awful, mind-numbing "dancing silhouettes" for iPod and the even more mind-numbing "Mac vs. PC" ones to appeal to the masses.

Thanks for sharing.

MBP13May 4, 02:02 AM1) Thees models had a problem with the neck, it would wear out and the display would be like a limp noodle. Kinda like the second pic they have there where it's touching the desk all the way down. Thats what they do over time and they don't want to stay up after that. Unless you replace the neck which is a HUGE expense.

Thanks for pointing this out. I asked the seller, so I'll just have to wait and see what s/he says. The neck does look strong, though, in my opinion, because it's holding up the screen in the first picture. Maybe the seller just put it down to show what it can do? I don't know.

tnsmartApr 12, 05:00 PMThanks for the replies.

I have an ATT iphone and the Trim fits perfectly. I also run with my phone and it fits fine in my Belkin armband w/o removing the case. I also like that the case comes with a dock insert. So far it has been the perfect case for me

How well does the Trim protect your phone? If I dropped my iPhone on a parking lot from about 3 feet do you think it would be ok?
Also, could you tell me which Belkin armband you have?

I do like CapsuleRebel but think that it may be a bit too bulky, especially for putting into an armband.

Does anybody have any comments on the Vulcan?

Thanks.

soundman2385Oct 21, 03:24 PMWho is going to go on Friday to get leopard in the OKC area.

tazoJul 5, 05:08 AMi think the biggest hurdle to leap over to run panther, are the graphic card limitations of the older machines. stuff like the cube user switching and expose are going to be cpu and graphic card intensive. do you think those older machines would be able to handle those?

Rocky3478Mar 30, 11:07 AMCan anyone help me with two questions:

1) Has the software update feature for Firefox ever work in identifying that there is a new version of FF itself out? I get updates to themes and extensions, but never FF. PR didn't find 1.0 when I clicked the prefs check for updates, and 1.0 didn't find 1.0.1, and now 1.0.1 didn't find 1.0.2. In the previous two cases, this was true even a couple weeks after the release of the new version (months for a lab PC using PR 0.8 that I hadn't been using for a while). So I figure that for some reason, the feature just doesn't work for me, in spite of the fact that there is an option checked right there, to look for FF updates.

2) Since search plug-ins are stored inside the contents of Firefox, what do people do in order to avoid having to re-install all their search plug-ins? Archive the directory and restore it? Or is there an easier way?

1) I don't believe so.

2) I just uninstall and reinstall the new version of Firefox. I haven't noticed that I lose anything, bookmarks, extensions, or plugins.

Oh, and I'm on a Windows  machine. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Hope this helps you out.
