techfreak85Apr 22, 08:16 PMCome on guys! We gotta get crankin' out WUs again! We seem to have lost a lot of that steam that we had a month or two ago. Losing bigadv for OS X has been an issue, hopefully we will get a new client soon!
I am disappointed that my output has dropped, especially over the last few days...I reformatted my computer, but I should be back up now. In a few weeks, after I am done with this Final Cut project, I might boot into Windows and crank out some bigadvs + GPU to give us a boost.

as far as a PC vs mbp, that's up to you. but those new intel processors sure do seem nice. what kind of pc did you have in mind for building?

Yeah I have permission to use the iMacs, they're my dad's and brother's, respectively, and they're both into helping out with this project, as my dad's father died of alzheimer's and my brother had cancer recently.

As far as the new computer goes, I will probably do one this year and the other the next, I just need to figure out which. The MBP would be a high end 15" i7 Sandy Bridge whenever those are ready. The PC would also be an i7 Sandy Bridge (2600k, probably overclocked a little) after the Sandy Bridge is ready again, with a GTX 570 most likely. Although I love building PCs I'm leaning towards getting a new MBP because I travel A LOT (literally half my year is normally spent away from home; I fly for an aerial mapping company) and I would really like to be able to play stuff like Civ V at good frame rates and would enjoy having a little bit more battery life for long airline flights. Not to mention the awesome cpu for compressing my blu ray collection and of course, folding. The kicker will be seeing how the specs for the new MBPs actually shake out, especially the gpu.

SpinThis!Mar 31, 12:11 PMIf Adobe provides comprehensive .psd support, I can see this being useful as a companion to Photoshop. It obviously isn't intended to "be" Photoshop.

Let's say you got a meeting with a client who wants to see your work. Photoshop is pretty heavy handed and can get in the way if you need to demo something. But on an iPad.... a client could say "what would it look like if our logo was down there..." or that "type was a shade darker" or whatever and you can prototype on it. So when you get back to your underground design lair the change already comes across just by opening the original .psd.

Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.

John.BApr 7, 10:26 AMI suggest you to save your SHSH blobs using TinyUmbrella from now on. Even if you don't jailbreak. But with your SHSH blobs you have the possibility to downgrade. I restored to 4.2.1 myself because of various issues with 4.3+

And it's a pity that few people know about this and a huge fail from apple for not letting iPhone users downgrade their firmware.

wct097May 2, 11:46 AMI've owned my SB (2011) MBP for over a month now. I have yet to use the Thunderbolt port and wished many times that it had USB3.0 support. Are there any Thunderbolt adapters available on the market yet? TB to USB 3.0 would be great. Alternatively a docking station would be cool. Anything besides the one LaCie drive?
