Yeah, I'm not the biggest iPad fan. Bought the original on launch day, returned in soon after.

Apple have provided a mechanism for installing 3rd party JDKs (in particular OpenJDK), but it likely won't work with current versions of Java IDEs (Netbeans, Eclipse etc) until they're updated to work with the new paths.

I wonder if this is anything to do with Oralce?

Lord BlackadderDec 16, 02:40 PMIf you are into unrestricted conrol then your best bet is Unix/Linux - and OS X is a member of that family.

Windows will probably be able to run on the upcoming Intel-based Macs, although if you are planning on buying a Mac just to run Windows on it I think you need to re-examine your priorities - you'd be much better of building yourself a PC.

With that said I would not use it as a dedicated DVD player especially if you burnt out a dedicated DVD player already due to high use. The PS2 is not known for it's durability. Mine has only lasted this long as once it started getting picky about the discs I played I quit using it to play DVDs and bought a dedicated DVD player. Also my PS2 sits in the top of the entertainment center and only gets moved to have the dust cleaned out of it.

Doctor QAug 5, 05:22 PMThe Apple Learning Interchange was used for collaboration, not just publishing lesson plans. It had a members list and places for interaction so educators could connect with and work with each other. I don't see how the iTunes U can replace that. This seems like a step down.

I have about 10 accounts set up and recently two of them have started constantly telling me that the server has refused the password and to enter it again. Sometimes I have to enter it 10 times, sometimes i even need to quit mail to clear it. It only happens when I leave mail open for a long time.

The tricky thing is... All 10 accounts are on the same mail server. So it's not a server issue. To further prove this, it doesn't happen on my G5 just on my PowerBook. I've tried to drop the accounts and readd them, deleted the entries out of Keychain...

iI dont want to trash the prefs file unless I have to cause I'll have to set up ALL my accounts again!

Any ideas?

Also joepunk, I didn't mean long term investment as in the money wise more as hopefully I shouldn't have any problem with the camera failing on me for any reasons and I need it send it back to Nikon for fixing.

I saw the D40 but I know I shouldn't think about mega pixels so much, but with 6mp I'm kind of looking for something more than the current point and shoot I have with 7mp. I think I've kind of have my heart set on the D90 now.

I understood what you meant. A D90 at a very good price point would be a decent "investment" in long term usage. My written remark is just one of those things that I like to say once a year or so. Something similar to when I tell a friend that they should quite smoking. I only say it once with a sincere and concerned look/tone and I don't bug them anymore.

I have a D50 and am longing for better low light performance. D7000 here I come.

I completely forgot about the 55-200.



TwoJaxMar 25, 04:34 PMOkay, I'm no newbie but I am stumped on this. Just got a new iPad 1. It came loaded with 3.2.2 (blow out pricing at Verizon). From all my reading, I can't jb this firm version. So, I dl'd the iPad 1,1 4.2.1.ipsw file so I could utilize the Greenp0is0n app (which, I gather 'used to' work on 3.2.2 but now requires 4.2.1). I shift-click (PC) to install that and Apple won't let me (natch, cuz it isn't 4.3.1). Since this is new, with unbreakable current firmware, I have no shsh blobs I can reference saved. So, changing the hostfile won't help me as there is nothing a cydia I can retrieve.

Question, in short, what do I need to do to jb this? :confused:

Apple's MobileMe Gallery (http://appshopper.com/photography/mobileme-gallery) application has received a minor update today, fixing a few bugs while delivering new support for iPhone 4. With the update, the application can now download higher-resolution versions of images hosted on MobileMe when used on an iPhone 4 and connecting over Wi-Fi. The change allows users to take advantage of iPhone 4's 960 x 640 "Retina" display to view images in crisper detail.

Unfortunately, the update does not yet bring native iPad compatibility to the application, a feature which would seem to be a logical addition to allow users to browse their MobileMe image galleries on the device's larger screen.
